Just a quick thought for today
So... I've gotten a little too slack in my work and its caused me some issues. So I did what anyone who knows me would expect me to do in such a situation; I started researching WW 2 naval guns and anti aircraft weapons systems operation... I mean... it makes perfect sense to do that since we have so many of those here in north(ish) Georgia...
With that in mind, I wondered how I could use this silliness as a way to write something that might be relevant and productive to those that read my musings and I believe that I may have found a way to do just that, which at least works in my own mind.
Everyone of us is programmed with a thing or an interest that we are drawn too. Something that we want to study, do, and experience in a real way but sometimes don't for whatever the reason. I suppose that we could call that thing or interest a "passion". Sometimes our passions can be monetized if they serve a purpose and solve someone's problem while other times they can serve as a way to bring us together with other like minded people or perhaps they can only be studied for our own enjoyment, or some combination of all of these.
There are far more problems in the world than solutions and with how interconnected the world is, there is a good chance that there is someone who has a problem that your passion may be able to help solve. That doesn't necessarily mean that it can make money, but it does mean that you can help someone with that special thing that you are driven to do and then you can make the world a little bit warmer, a little bit better.
For me, my passions have been about military, defense, survival, machinery, and metalworking. I have always been a builder and have always been deeply curious about the mechanical world, especially older machines, military machinery, and construction equipment. This is my passion. It is what constantly occupies my mind, when I'm at rest as well as when I'm working. It's what I am driven to study, do, and experience.
I haven't always embraced this though. I have spent a considerable amount of emotional and physical energy trying to pursue paths not meant for me to walk down, even when the truth was right in front of me. I believe that I am finally on the right path in life that that allows me to study and pursue the varied interests that I have.
With all of this being said, I encourage YOU to follow that thing that makes YOU unique and share it with others. You may not be able to do it as a job or a business, but it will lead you to a more fulfilling life, even if just as a hobby. Pursue that thing that makes you special. Embrace it. Study it. Practice it. Cultivate it and be the absolute best that YOU can be at what ever the thing.
You never know where it might lead you or who you might come across.
